MY TALE UNTOLD
Inspired by true life characters and events, 'My Tale Untold', follows the story of a young Sligo girl in the 1800s who came to be imprisoned in Sligo Gaol and her perilous journey to freedom.
The book was a passionate undertaking for Friends of Sligo Gaol that has been in the planning for four years.
It aims to educate younger generations about the history of Sligo town, Sligo Gaol and what life was like for a child in the 19th century. We are proudly providing a number of free copies of the book to each primary school in Co. Sligo.
The book was kindly funded by Sligo LCDC, County Sligo Leader Partnership Company Ltd, the Creative Ireland Programme Sligo and Sligo Credit Union. We achieved these aims through collaboration with talented local illustrator Wayne O'Connor.
